Access FOCUS and ClassLink

Log into a student's FOCUS account with the student present, using his or her own school district credentials. All SDIRC students are issued these credentials and should know what these are. Logging into FOCUS allows the parent/tutor/adult helper and the student to look at grades, missing assignments, and test scores together, which builds accountability. Tutors, parents, and adult helpers can also assist students to communicate with teachers via e-mail to request help or other assistance. On their own students are often reluctant to do this, but with the help of a trusted adult who can assist the student in articulating his or her needs via e-mail, students can obtain help and assistance that might not come about otherwise. Another helpful link for students is ClassLink. This is the place students access course work, outlines, study guides for exams, and online textbooks.
